In Spain, 2 million people live with this syndrome, according to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.publico.es\/videos\/1047788\/dos-millones-de-espanoles-viven-con-covid-persistente\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Publico.es.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">As the outbreak of the COVID 19 Pandemic in March 2020 recedes back in memory, its lasting effects become more and more obvious, and the virus itself yields more secrets about its behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">The 2 million people living with this syndrome comprise 15% of those infected with the virus in Spain since its outbreak. Until today, they are still struggling to go back to their pre-2020 life, but what makes this suffering more painful is that they do not know if these symptoms are chronic or temporary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Uncertainty is the most problematic and dominant feeling among some interviewed patients- a feeling that adds to physical symptoms hard to explain. Tachycardia, fatigue, fever, and memory issues are among the many symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Sandra, a persistent Covid patient, has 40 covid-related symptoms, according to <em>Publico<\/em>. \u201cI forgot how to add and subtract,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Another patient, Sylvia, has lost much of her reading skills, while Pablo can no longer recognize his daughter. \u201cI just use 42% of my respiratory system,\u201d he says, commenting on the deterioration of his health. \u201cIt is as if I had been smoking for decades.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Persistent Covid19 Syndrome is a global pandemic emerging out of the shadow of the Covid19 SARS pandemic.
